Claims that a former employee of a health board could be involved in more than 100 cases of child sex abuse will be discussed at a meeting of senior board officials today.
The allegations relate to a former dental employee. The board has confirmed it is "co-operating fully with a Garda investigation into four alleged instances of child abuse which may involve a former employee of the board's employment for almost 20 years".
A spokesman for the Department of Health and Children said the Minister had exerted pressure on the board to hand over all relevant information on file to the gardaí.
Mr Colm O'Gorman, an abuse victim of Father Sean Fortune and a victims' rights activist who runs a UK-based charity for abuse victims, was contacted by an alleged victim about two years ago.
Mr O'Gorman believes the alleged abuse occurred "well over 20 years ago" and there was an "outlandish number of complaints".
