THE GARDA Ombudsman Commission has completed its investigation file in relation to the death of a man found collapsed in a cell in a Dublin Garda station.

Mark Anthony Reidy (32), Keeper Road, Drimnagh, was found unresponsive at Terenure Garda station on December 30th, 2007. He was brought to St James’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A postmortem by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis found Mr Reidy died of methadone and alcohol intoxication. He also had pre-existing coronary artery disease.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating the death. Commissioner Carmel Foley told coroner Dr Brian Farrell at Dublin City Coroner’s Court yesterday that its investigation file was completed and was with its legal department before it would be submitted to the DPP.

Dr Farrell adjourned the inquest to June 2010.
