Figures detailing the earnings of RTÉ's highest-paid presenters are expected to be published by the national broadcaster this afternoon.
Late Late Show presenter and Radio 1 broadcaster Pat Kenny, who was beaten to second place by 2fm's Gerry Ryan last year, is expected to top the list.
Arts body report on broadcasting
The Arts Council has announced it is to commission a report that will inform it on future discussions with RTÉ and other broadcasters and ensure the arts sector reaches the widest possible audience.
The decision follows recent concerns over RTÉ's decision to drop Rattlebag from its Radio 1 schedule.
Questioned over bomb hoax
A man was being questioned by the PSNI last night after a suspect device was placed on a hijacked bus in Glengormley on the outskirts of Belfast yesterday. The bus was hijacked by two men at 7am. The driver was forced to drive the vehicle to the Orange Order arch in Glengormley. The device was declared a hoax.
FF councillor new mayor of Tralee
Fianna Fáil councillor Norma Foley has been elected as mayor of Tralee. A teacher, and the daughter of former TD Denis Foley, she is also a candidate for the party in the next general election.
In Listowel, meanwhile, Anthony Curtin of Sinn Féin has been elected mayor.
No comment on near-miss report
A spokesperson for Derry City Council said yesterday the council could not comment on a report that an incoming Ryanair 737 jet narrowly missed a parachutist near City of Derry Airport on Sunday.
Businessman Gordon Nesbitt said he witnessed the incident.
Ryanair said no near-miss report was made.
Arrests follow discovery of body
Two people were arrested by the PSNI after the body of a man was discovered yesterday in a house off the Oldpark Road in north Belfast.
