Four men were being questioned by gardaí last night in connection with the seizure of cocaine with an estimated street value of €1.5 million. The drugs were found during planned searches at a number of premises in the Coolock area of Dublin yesterday afternoon.

An Uzi submachine gun was also found with the drugs. Gardaí believe the weapon may have been imported with the cocaine.

Yesterday's find was part of an ongoing operation into the activities of a Coolock gang from whom cocaine with a street value of €100,000 was seized last month. The operation was carried out by members of the Garda National Drug Unit and the drug unit attached to Clontarf Garda station.
