The inspectors appointed by the High Court to investigate the affairs of Ansbacher (Cayman) Ltd were given leave by the court yesterday to serve notice on the Cayman company that they require to see its documents on Irish business.

Mr Justice Herbert said the proceedings were being taken in Ireland and were governed by Irish law. He said the court should not decline to make the order sought by the inspectors merely because it was not certain if Ansbacher (Cayman) Ltd or its managing director, Mr Brian Botwell, would volunteer to assist the inspector or that the order would be recognised or enforced in the Grand Cayman.

The judge fixed April 30th for the further hearing of the inspectors' application.
