THE staff in an organisation set up by the Conference of Religious in Ireland (CORI) will go on strike today, according to SIPTU. The strike is over the dismissal of one of the full time employees.
The Institute of Action and Research on Work and Employment (IARWE) was set up by CORI arising out of the work of its Justice Office on unemployment and social exclusion.
It is claimed the co ordinator of programmes at the institute was dismissed unfairly, and that management refused to discuss the matter on two occasions.
There was nobody in the Justice Office of CORI last night to discuss the alleged unfair dismissal and proposed strike.
