Gardaí in Co Clare are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in a field near the village of Ruan, near Ennis yesterday afternoon.
It has been confirmed that the man, who is thought to be in his 50s, had suffered extensive head and may have been at the scene since Friday night.
Gardaí are treating the death as suspicious. A post-mortem examination is being carried out today by the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Michael Curtis.
The man has not yet been identified.
