Tehran - An Iranian police sergeant was killed and four policemen were injured in unrest in the western city of Khorramabad, scene of earlier clashes between vigilantes and pro-reform protesters, reports said yesterday.
The official IRNA news agency said shop windows were smashed by "opportunists and hooligans" taking advantage of rising tensions in the city.
The Kayhan newspaper said Sgt Ardeshir Karami was killed and four policemen were injured when crowds attacked a police station and were repelled by police. Thirty people were arrested.
