Ireland 32 Scotland 8:Ireland rounded off their Women's Rugby World Cup campaign with a comfortable win against Scotland to secure seventh place.

The five-try win means that the girls in green improved their world ranking by one spot to seventh, with Scotland finishing in eighth.

After Niamh Briggs kicked a penalty, Eliza Downey grabbed the first try before Briggs touched down under the posts after a mazy 60-metre run. Scotland got on the scoreboard when Donna Kennedy got her side’s only try but Downey re-established Ireland’s lead within minutes of the restart.

Orla Brennan then crashed over from close range while Briggs got Ireland’s fifth try of the game to seal the win.
