Cricket: Ireland came back from the dead to snatch a thrilling one-run victory over Holland at Stormont in the Quadrangular Series.
The visitors were cruising to their victory target of 211 when they required just 30 runs from the final eight overs with seven wickets in hand but they nearly threw all their hard work away.
All-rounders Kevin O'Brien and Andre Botha turned the screw as wickets tumbled and the hosts were able to sneak home by the skin of their teeth.
The Dutch - who were hammered by 10 wickets by the West Indies on Tuesday - required seven from the final over but O'Brien held his nerve to secure the narrowest of wins.
Irish opener Eoin Morgan - released by county Middlesex to play in the series - had made a patient 51 before Dave Langford-Smith smashed 31 from 13 balls to take his side past 200.
Skipper Trent Johnston chose to bat after winning the toss but openers Morgan and Kenneth Carroll had crawled to 33 in the 12th over before Carroll was trapped lbw by Billy Stelling for 12.
Botha upped the ante with a brisk 27 before he fell to Hendrik-Jan Mol as Morgan remained in his shell.
He moved to 50 from 107 balls but just five balls later he was caught by Bas Zuiderent after mistiming a pull shot off Edgar Schiferli.
The desperation for runs got the better of Niall O'Brien who was run out for 22 and Trent Johnston (2) soon followed, holing out to Geert-Maarten Mol on the boundary off Mudassar Bukhari.
Kevin O'Brien added two huge sixes before he was caught at long-on by Eric Szwarczynski for 22.
Bukhari then claimed the wickets of Alex Cusack (1) and Thinus Fourie (4) to leave Langford-Smith - who hit three huge sixes - unbeaten on 31.
Bukhari then turned on the style with the bat, smashing Langford-Smith for four and a six in the third over.
Johnston and Gary Kidd were also hit for boundaries by a rampant Bukhari before Alexei Kervezee (20) drove Kyle McCallan straight to Carroll at mid-off to give Ireland the breakthrough.
That did not deter Bukhari as he brought up his fifty by sweeping Kidd over square leg for six.
He followed that up by hitting the spinner's next two deliveries to the boundary rope and even when he was run out for 71 in the 33rd over the Dutch were still clear favourites with 73 required.
But when Cusack caught and bowled Zuiderent for 36 the Dutch scoring ground to a halt.
Szwarczynski (15) was snapped up by Kevin O'Brien off his own bowling and when Botha removed Borren with the first ball of the 47th over the initiative was with Ireland.
Hendrik-Jan Mol (2) was then brilliantly run out by Carroll to reinforce the Irish advantage.
Stelling (10no) and Geert-Maarten Mol (5no) threw the bat at everything in the final two overs but Botha and O'Brien's experience at the death saw them through.
