Up to 1kg of cannabis with a street value of up to €10,000 has been seized at Cork airport after customs officers stopped a man for routine profiling.
The Spanish national, who is in his 40s, was found to have swallowed the pellets. A sniffer dog indicated a positive reaction after the man disembarked a flight from Spain yesterday.
The man was detained by customs officers and was taken to hospital, where the drugs were passed under medical supervision.
He was arrested by gardaí, and will be taken to a Cork Garda station shortly.
