The crash occurred on the Greenhills Road in Walkinstown at around 5pm

The 19-year-old male driver of the car was taken to Tallaght hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the bus and one passenger were taken to St James’s Hospital with minor injuries.

Gardaí would particularly like to speak to the drivers of two cars who were in the area of the crash at the time. The cars, which were possibly silver in colour, overtook the bus which was at a bus stop on the Greenhills Road shortly before the crash.

A spokeswoman for Dublin Bus said yesterday it would be carrying out an investigation into the crash which would include the examination of on-board CCTV footage which it would also be making available to gardaí.
