Swedish furniture chain Ikea is recalling two models of children's beds for repair, citing complaints over a metal rod that can break and potentially cause harm.

Ikea said today it is recalling batches of its branded KRITTER beds stamped with figures from 1114-1322 and SNIGLAR beds labelled 1114-1318.

On its website, Ikea stated: “Only KRITTER junior beds with date stamp (YYWW) from 1114 to 1322 and SNIGLAR junior beds with date stamp from 1114 to 1318 are affected.”

It said the labels can be found underneath or at the side of the bed. Customers who have bought beds contained within should contact customer service to get a free repair kit, or return the beds.
