Political Editor Pat Leahy talks to Hugh Linehan about the views on abortion revealed by the latest Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll. The results show a clear majority in favour of repealing the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution, which bans abortion in almost all circumstances, and legalising terminations on request up to the 12th week of pregnancy. With a campaign yet to come, and a history of reversals of opinion in referendums past, should repealers be pleased or wary?
