Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to his Longford family

An Irishman has died following a traffic collision in Thailand.

It is understood the man, believed to be in his late 30s and from Longford, had been working as an English teacher in Thailand in recent years.

He was killed in a collision in the Chiang Rai province on Tuesday night.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is aware of the incident and is providing consular assistance.
