Kerry teenager in critical condition after motorcycle accident

Boy (16) was airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious head injuries in the incident

A teenage boy is in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining serious head injuries after coming off a motorcycle in Co Kerry on Sunday afternoon.

The 16-year old, originally from Asdee but living in Tarbert, came off the bike near his home at about 2pm.

The boy is believed to have been riding a dirt bike at the time of the incident.

He was airlifted from the scene to University Hospital Limerick at 2.30pm.

A source said the boy’s condition is “critical”.

The boy is expected to be airlifted to Cork University Hospital later on Sunday for specialised treatment.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.
