Man arrested in connection with fatal Wexford hit-and-run

A man in his 30's has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run which happened in Co Wexford in January.

The man was arrested in the Wicklow town area on Monday morning and is being held at Enniscorthy Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The incident happened on the N11 at Ballylough near Ferns on the 12th of January this year.

An 81-year-old man was killed and the woman who was travelling with him was also seriously injured when a car he was driving in was hit by another car.

The two occupants of the other car subsequently fled from the scene.
