A38-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle collision in Dublin last evening.

The motorcyclist died after he collided with a car near the Luas stop on Davitt Road in the Drimnagh area of Dublin 12 at about 4pm.

Emergency services brought the man to St James’s Hospital. However he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

The Davitt road and the Drimnagh Luas stop were closed for much of the evening to allow for Garda forensic collision investigators to examine the scene.

A Garda spokesman urged anyone with information to contact Sundrive Road Garda station on 01-6666600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
