A motorcyclist has died following a road crash in Co Kerry.

The man, who was in his 30s, was fatally injured when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a lorry on the R556 Tralee road near Abbeydorney village at about 10am on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was not injured in the incident.

The man was named locally as Michael O’Sullivan from Ardoughter, near Ballyduff village.

Gardaí said the scene of the collsion was closed to allow for a forensic examination and that diversions were in place.
