CSO will recruit 4,700 enumerators next January, with earnings of € 2,500 on offer

The date for next census has been confirmed to take place on April 24th, 2016.

The census is a detailed account of everyone who is in the country on a particular night.

There are 30 questions on the form that must be answered by each person present and an additional 11 household questions.

They include a request for information on basic demographic and social topics such as age, sex, marital status, education, employment status and occupation.

The last census was held on April 10th, 2011.

The CSO will start to recruit for about 4,700 enumerators next January, with typical earnings of about €2,500 on offer for a 10-week stint distributing and collecting census forms.

It has previously recruited about 430 census field supervisor positions.
