Six people were trapped mid-air on an amusement ride in Tramore, Co Waterford last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the “chair-o-lane” ride got stuck for over an hour on one of the warmest evenings of the year at the popular seaside resort.

The ride is a new machine that shoots people in the air up to 200 feet from the ground and spins them around.

It is believed two women and four children were on the ride when it broke down.
