Burren Slow Food Festival in Lisdoonvarna has a Clare farmers' market running from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday has a foraging walk at 11am, an oyster demonstration and tasting at 3pm, and a talk and demonstration by chef Ross Lewis of Michelin-starred Dublin restaurant Chapter One at 4pm. Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival in Schull features programmes of short films in the village hall from 10am on Saturday. Each programme of three to five films lasts about an hour. There is a film quiz for teams of four in the Bunratty Inn at 8.30pm on Saturday; entry €5 per person. www.fastnetshortfilmfestival.com

Dublin Dance Festival's programme incudes a free 60-minute outdoor contemporary and hip hop dance event in Smithfield Square on Saturday at 1pm and 4pm and on Sunday at 4pm. Taking part are Dublin's all-male youth dance group Company B, Germany's hip hop dance company Renegade, the all-Ireland hip hop champion Tobi Omoteso and members of Dublin's Raw Edge Crew. International Literature Festival Dublin has readings, discussions, debates,workshops, performances and screenings. Anne Enright talks about her new novel The Green Road at an event chaired by writer and editor Niall McMonagle in Smock Alley Theatre at 6pm on Saturday (admission €12). Dermot Bolger and Christine Dwyer Hickey are discussing their latest novels in Smock Alley at 4pm on Sunday (admission €10). To mark the launch of All Over Ireland, a new anthology of Irish short stories, the book's editor Deirdre Madden and two contributors, Selina Guinness and Eoin McNamee, explore the challenges and opportunities of short stories at 6pm on Sunday in Smock Alley (admission €10). www.ilfdublin.com

Wicklow Arts Festival includes the Abbey Medieval Village, a free family event in the abbey grounds in Abbey Street, Wicklow, from 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. There are combat displays each day at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
