The southbound lane of Dublin’s Port Tunnel has reopened after a truck caught fire this morning in the tunnel leading to the closure of lanes in both directions.
The northbound lane remains closed with road congestion leading back to before the M1/M50 interchange at the Port Tunnel onto the Swords road, according to AA Roadwatch.
One man suffering from non-life threatening injuries has been taken to hospital as a precaution following the incident.

This morning’s road closure has led to major traffic delays around the city. There are delays through Drumcondra and Clarehall, with heavy traffic from the M50 interchange to Northern Cross.
There has been a slight improvement on the Malahide road inbound and on Collins Avenue but traffic remains heavy between Northern Cross and Fairview.
Emergency services and gardaí are carrying out safety checks at the scene before the full tunnel re-opens to the public. An investigation is due to be carried out into the cause of the blaze.
The HGV (five axel)ban for the city centre has been lifted for the duration of the closure.
