A 23-year-old man has died after the articulated truck he was driving left the road in Co Cork this afternoon.

The crash occurred on the R586 at Murragh, Bandon at about 3.10pm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem will be carried out on his body at Cork University Hospital.

The road is closed this evening as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators survey the scene. Local diversions are in place.
