Two people died in separate traffic collisions on the country’s roads on Monday.
In the first incident, a man in his 50s died following a collision between a truck and a car in Co Kilkenny.
The crash occurred about 7.30am on Monday morning at Garryduff Cross Road in Paulstown.
The truck driver was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed pending an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.

Collision
A male motorcyclist died in a separate collision in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin at about 11.45am.
The crash occurred on York Road and involved the motorcyclist, a car and a van, according to gardaí.
The man was taken from the scene to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A postmortem is due to take place.
Gardaí said the road has been sealed off to allow a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
