U2 bassist Adam Clayton married his Brazilian girlfriend Mariana Teixeira De Carvalho in Dublin city centre this morning.

The reportedly low-key ceremony took place at the Civil Registration Service offices on Lower Grand Canal Street.

It is believed that the pair had been in a relationship for four years.

Clayton was previously engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell and he also had a long-standing relationship with Suzanne Smith, however, the pair broke up 2007.
