The RNLI kicks off a fundraising event tomorrow and volunteers will be selling yellow welly pin badges and key rings for €2 around Ireland.
To mark the campaign, which runs until next Monday, our very own Bryan O’Brien took a trip around Dublin Bay onboard an RNLI boat with his video camera.
Volunteer lifeboat crew have responded to the emergency calls from those in trouble around Ireland’s coastline for 190 years. Crews that are on call every day, all year round.
Last year, RNLI lifeboat crews from Ireland’s 44 lifeboat stations launched 1,087 times, rescuing 1,278 people.
