Woman killed in collision with lorry in Co Galway named

The woman who was fatally injured after her car hit a lorry in Clarinbridge, Co Galway on Saturday morning has been named as Laura Winters.

Ms Winters was fatally injured when the vehicle she was driving collided with a truck on the N18 at Clarinbridge at about 8.30am.

The 29-year-old was the sole occupant of the car, according to gardaí.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

A section of the road was closed on Saturday to facilitate a forensic examination. The road re-opened on Saturday evening.
