The Irish Dairy Board today posted a pre-tax surplus of €37.9 million for 2004 in what was an increase of 3.8 per cent on the previous year.
The co-operative said that turnover was up 4.5 per cent to €1.896 billion; retained earnings for the year were €30.1 million, up 7.6 per cent.
The board said the results were largely down to the continuing healthy performance of the Kerrygold brand, sales of which rose by 5.2 per cent.
