Denis Lynch, on board Lantinus, has the opportunity to secure Ireland's fourth medal of the Beijing Games when the individual show jumping finals get underway tomorrow afternoon.
The Co Tipperary rider must first negotiate the first stage of the jumping final, where the top 35 will be whittled down to just 20, before the medals are decided during a second session in Hong Kong.
On a quiet day from an Irish perspective in the track and field events, only Olive Loughnane will feature at the Bird's Nest stadium when the women's 20km final enters the latter stages at around 3.20am Irish time.
