Investigations are continuing tonight into the deaths of an Irish man and his two daughters in the United States.
Police in New Jersey discovered their bodies at a house in a small town near Newark.
The man has been identified as Thomas Reilly, originally from Co Cavan, and his daughters Megan, six, and five-year-old Kelly.
It is believed the man drowned his two young daughters in a bathtub before hanging himself. Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
It is understood officers were called to the property last night after the man's wife Teresa arrived at the house to collect her children and received no reply.
New Jersey Assemblyman Thomas Giblin said Mr Reilly had visitation rights to the children and believed he and his estranged wife were trying to work things out.
It is believed Mr Reilly was a building engineer and former bar owner who emigrated from Ireland about 15 years ago.
He moved into the Montclair apartment in recent months after experiencing marital difficulties.
