A 32-year-old man has been charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm in connection with the attack.
Investigators in the Western Australia Police force are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
They are particularly interested in speaking to a person who called the Police Assistance Centre who they believe may have recorded some of the events on their phone.
