A 21-year-old man with dual Irish-British citizenship has been remanded in custody in England today after being charged with offences involving young girls.

Patrick Burnell, of Hadleigh, Suffolk, was flown back to Britain yesterday after being arrested in Prague in the Czech Republic. He had been travelling on an Irish passport.

Mr Burnell appeared before magistrates in Norwich today and was remanded in custody until August 20th, when he will appear at Norwich Crown Court.

He is charged with sex offences against children, possession of indecent images and making indecent images.

The alleged offences were committed in Norfolk and Suffolk, the Crown Prosecution said.
