Tattyby Irish novelist Christine Dwyer Hickey has been chosen as one of 20 books nominated for the long-list of the prestigious Orange Prize for Fiction.
The Orange Prize for Fiction is the UK's only annual book award for fiction written by a woman, celebrating excellence, originality and accessibility in women's writing.
Hickey was previously a winner at Listowel Writers' Week, and also a prizewinner in the prestigious Observer/Penguin short-story competition.
The judges for the 2005 award are Jenni Murray, broadcaster and author (Chair); Jo Brand, comedienne and author; Joanne Harris, author; Jude Kelly, theatre director; and Moira Stuart, broadcaster.
