Fintan O’Toole has been appointed Literary Editor of The Irish Times. He will continue to write his weekly column and Culture Shock.
He has been writing for The Irish Times since 1988 on a wide range of cultural and political issues, including the impact of economic change on Irish society, church and State relations, cultural policy and political reform.
His books include Enough is Enough: How to Build a New Republic; White Savage: William Johnson and the Invention of America; A Traitor’s Kiss: The Life of Richard Brinsley Sheridan; and Meanwhile Back at the Ranch: The Politics of Irish Beef.
He succeeds the late Caroline Walsh.
