Oleg Jukovics, a weightlifter affiliated to the Irish Amateur Weightlifting Association, has been handed a two-year suspension from the sport after being found guilty of an anti-doping rule violation.
The Irish Sport Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel found that, contrary to Article 2.1 of the Irish Anti-Doping Rules, Mr Jukovics, tested positive for the presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolite or marker, Stanozolol, in a sample of his urine collected during testing at the Irish Senior Weightlifting Championships on May 7th 2011.
Mr Jukovics’s results in the competition are automatically disqualified and he was suspended for two years, commencing on the date of his provisional suspension, June 2nd June 2011. He has the right to appeal the decision within 14 days.
