Hockey: The Irish women's hockey team played out 1-1 draw in their final match against Wales and that was enough for Graham Francey's team to win the Celtic Cup for the fourth year in a row.

In a compact schedule Ireland played their third game in as many days against Wales and struggled early on. However, Francey's side upped their game and managed to get to the break scoreless after a number penalty corners were not converted.

Ireland started the second half strongly and five minutes in Nikki Symmons, who won her 50th cap today, passed to Eimear Creegan who netted a fine goal. However, the lead was short-lived as Wales drew level eight minutes later through a set piece corner.

Ireland's win over Scotland on Friday night and their win against host's France yesterday was enough to leave Ireland on top of the table.

"I am absolutely delighted and very proud, we played the best hockey of the tournament against all the odds of an inexperienced squad and I am thrilled to see a number of players step up to the mark," said Francey.

Irish Results:
