There's news from Ascot that you won't find on the sports pages - for the first time in history the head chef in the queen's tent is an Irish man - and with all those sharp knives around too. Richard Corrigan, a 34-year-old Meath cook who has been appointed to the prestigious role of head chef at the royal tent in Ascot, is a Michelin-starred chef and is currently causing a bit of a furore with his new restaurant, Lindsey House in London.

Although it has only been open seven months, it is the new restaurant to be seen at, never mind eat at, and the waiting lists are getting longer by the day. Richard's speciality is dishes such as liver and kidney served with weird and wonderful sauces - so offaly, offaly nice at the races.
