Island Oil and Gas has raised over €20 million through the issue of shares, it was announced today.
The company issued 35,253,365 new ordinary shares of £0.01 at a price of £0.39 (€0.571) per share. The placing of the shares was supported by a number of new and existing private investors.
Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the 35,253,365 new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. Dealing is expected to start in these shares on May 25th.
The company - which has operations in Ireland, Morocco and the Netherlands -said funds will be used to support its drilling and testing programme, which began earlier this month at the Old Head of Kinsale gas field in the Celtic Sea.
The company is hoping to begin work at the Schull gas field subject to permission.
