Islington looks likely to bypass Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh in favour of a crack at the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown on Tuesday evening.
The four-year-old filly, a dual Group One winner last season, pleased trainer Sir Michael Stoute in a gallop at Newmarket yesterday morning.
She had a racecourse spin under regular rider Kieren Fallon, moving well clear of lead horse Cover Up.
However, Stoute is concerned about the softer going in Ireland and may keep her for the Sandown race instead.
"I am scared about the ground and won't make a decision until Friday but from the information I received yesterday it would be unlikely she would run," he told the Racing Post.
"I am happy enough with her but the ground is pretty soft and the Brigadier Gerard on Tuesday evening would be more likely at this stage."
