An Israeli pharmaceutical company is to create 300 jobs in Roscrea, Co Tippereary. Taro pharmaceuticals take over the Miza pharmaceutical factory which announced its closure in December.
The Tánaiste, Ms Harney welcomed the jobs announcement saying: "Given the recent closure of the Miza facility, finding alternative employment for the town of Roscrea was always going to be a challenge. I am particularly delighted with the speed in which this has been achieved and the high quality investor that the IDA has succeeded in attracting."
She added: "the fact that 25 percent of the 300 workers will be involved in R&D is a clear indication of the quality of this investment and the availability of a highly skilled workforce."
