An Israeli-Palestinian security meeting has begun near the Erez crossing point between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
The discussions on security questions started shortly after 18:00 (GMT) in the Gaza Strip in an official Palestinian building at Beit Hanoun, a few hundred metres (yards) from the Erez crossing.
The Palestinian delegation includes Generals Amin al-Hindi and Abdel Razeq alMajeida, respectively the head of Palestinian intelligence and the public security chief in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian source said.
Israeli tanks entered a Palestinian-controlled area of the Gaza Strip for 90 minutes today, destroying a Palestinian police post before leaving the area. There were no injuries reported.
Earlier today, three Israeli tanks and two bulldozers entered Rafah city in the southern tip of Gaza Strip and destroyed the one-storey building.
An Israeli army spokeswoman in Jerusalem said the "pinpoint" operation was undertaken because of mortar fire in the area.
