Israeli tank shells killed a Palestinian policeman at an outpost in the West Bank city of Nablus today, Palestinian security and hospital officials said.
They said four policemen and a 12-year-old boy were wounded in the same attack, launched after Palestinian gunmen shot and wounded Jewish settler parents and their infant baby near the Palestinian-ruled city.
The Israeli army was checking the report.
At least 20 Palestinians, including one suicide bomber, and 10 Israelis have been killed since Israel and the Palestinians adopted a US-brokered ceasefire in mid-June that was to end nine months of violence.
