A four-year-old Palestinian girl was shot dead today in a Gaza refugee camp where Israeli troops are mounting raids against militants and a suicide bomber exploded at a West Bank checkpoint.
Palestinian medics and witnesses said Israeli soldiers shot the girl in the Rafah refugee camp, but Israeli military sources denied any knowledge of a killing.
Israeli military sources said they did not know of any shooting in the Gaza neighbourhood where the girl was killed.
Witnesses said three other Palestinians were wounded in the incident.
