Indian IT company HCL will create 600 jobs in a major expansion of its Armagh and Belfast contact centre operations.

HCL's Northern Ireland operations have enjoyed steady growth in recent years, and the company is now one of the North's top 10 private sector employers.

This expansion, supported by Invest Northern Ireland, will create at least 400 jobs in Armagh, with the rest at Armagh or Belfast, depending on operational requirements.

The jobs announcement was made by British Prime Minister Tony Blair who is on a visit to India.
