The Italian Rugby Federation has decided against moving their opening Six Nations game against world champions England to a bigger stadium.

The February 15th match, England's first competitive game since winning the World Cup last month, will be played at Italy's usual home, Rome's Stadio Flaminio, and not, as had been considered, in the capital's bigger Olympic stadium.

The Federation had considered moving the game from the 30,000 Flaminio to the 80,000 Olympic stadium to cope with an anticipated flood of interest from England supporters.

But the Federation said in a statement today that the number of requests for tickets from England "was not considered sufficient to justify a change of venue".
