All Italian Serie A and B games this weekend have been postponed following the death of Livorno player Piermario Morosini, ANSA news service quoted Italian soccer federation director general Antonello Valentini as saying.

Morosini collapsed on the pitch with a suspected cardiac arrest during an Italian second division game at Pescara this afternoon, Italian media reported.

The news comes just weeks after Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba suffered the same problem in an English FA Cup match before making a recovery in hospital.
