London - The pop superstar Michael Jackson will speak in a debate on child welfare at the Oxford Union next year, it was reported yesterday. The usually reclusive Mr Jackson will appear at the university's debating society with his new Jewish mentor.

The subject of his talk will raise eyebrows as Mr Jackson has been dogged by rumours after allegations of child abuse were made against him and because of his fantasy lifestyle surrounded by children. In 1993, a 13-year-old boy sued Mr Jackson, saying the singer had molested him. The lawsuit was settled out of court for a reported $15 million and Mr Jackson, who denied any wrongdoing, was not charged with any crime.
