Jim Jefferies was today appointed as manager of Kilmarnock after signing a contract that will keep him at Rugby Park until 2005.

The former Hearts boss left Bradford last December but has now returned to management following Bobby Williamson's move to Hibernian.

Jefferies and his assistant, Billy Brown, were unveiled as Kilmarnock's new managerial team at a Rugby Park media briefing. Chairman Sir John Orr told the club's official website: "As men used to the pressures of managing at the top levels in Scotland and in the English Premiership I'm sure Jim and Billy will relish the prospect of continuing Kilmarnock's success and development."
