A judge in the Circuit Civil Court in Dublin has frozen the assets of a hotel which is facing a number of personal injury claims.

Mr Michael Coen, counsel, for one of the claimants, told Judge Liam Devally yesterday that the former Camelot Hotel, Malahide Road, Dublin, latterly known as the Park Hotel, had been closed for some time.

He was granted interim injunctions in relation to five claims for damages of up to Pounds 30,000 in each case. They will remain in place until the court hears an application by a solicitor to come off record for the hotel.

Mr Thomas Loomes, solicitor for the five claimants, said the hotel premises was the only asset now held by the defendant, Capriview Ltd, trading as The Camelot, and he felt if it was sold the assets might be dissipated so as to be unavailable to meet any court judgment.
